Turkey Bush (Calytrix exstipulata) flowers among the richly layered sandstone of the Kimberley, where delicate pink-purple blooms contrast with bands of rust-red and charcoal. Iron oxide creates the vivid orange tones, while cyanobacteria and lichens form the darker protective crust across the rock. Beneath these remarkable surface colours lies much paler sandstone. A living, weathered landscape shaped by geology, climate and time.
